WiMAX Network Engineers (Denver, perm / relo benefits available)
FUNCTION: We are seeking a WiMAX Network Engineer with experience designing and building a WiMAX network. Our client is a rapidly growing company in a great position in their marketplace and a great internal engineering-oriented culture. This is a Tier 5 organization responsible for taking a paper architecture and making it deployable, building field trial systems, and assuring a smooth hand-off to operations. Experience is required working with wireless company, a telco, or Internet provider in a live service environment.

TYPICAL TASKS WILL INCLUDE:
- Working on the spec, design, and implementation of a new WiMAX architecture broadband network.
- Hands-on system building, integration, and deployment for the first market (market-trial)
- Assisting with the Hand-off to tier-4 operations for future deployment and scaling.
- Analyze test results and problems in the field and troubleshoot and fix deployment issues
- Develop OSS and maintenance procedures
- Be the expert and assess new network technologies
REQUIREMENTS:
- WiMAX (or 4G / LTE) experience is required. Design and architecture, and integration experience.
- Experience with wireless (or satellite) base station architectures and systems.
- Juniper or Cisco Network Engineering and switch / router configuration experience.
- Protocol experience in OSI layers 1-4 protocols, such as routing, switching, 802.1q, MPLS, VPLS, OSPF, BGP, VPN’s, DHCP, DNS, etc. Experience with firewalls, VPNs and system load-balancing is highly desirable as well.
- Understanding of Internet service architectures – especially the device and service provisioning flow.
- Knowledge of Communications systems, & using tools such as network analyzers, packet generators, etc.
- ISP experience is a major plus (such as wireless co, cable, telco)
- Experience with OSI layer 1-2 issues such as physical layer mod / demod – should have enough RF experience to check levels, evaluate frequency scanning, data modem performance etc. (super-RF savvy is not required – should get the notion of scanning and acquiring a signal, SNR, sick wave-forms, etc.)
- Other desirable experience: Test automation, Scripting (Perl/Python, etc.), UNIX / Windows admin
