Senior Embedded Video / Settop Box (STB) Software Engineer (drivers, middleware, conditional access) - San Francisco, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Requirements, design, and software development for embedded STB system software, conditional access and security solutions, and drivers/middleware. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related degree preferred; but substantial, outstanding work experience may substitute in some cases
• 7+ years of  relevant embedded software dev experience with Settop Box STB systems or other streaming video systems (video camera candidates may also be considered)
• Expert-level skills in C, including C development in resource-constrained embedded environments.  Experience with C++ and UNIX/Linux system programming is a plus
• Software development and debugging of embedded systems, including low-level programming tasks such as direct programming/interfacing of HW features, HW driver and middleware work etc. below the  application layer within an embedded system (Experience in OpenTV or OCAP or other middleware dev is a huge plus)
• Knowledge of one or more RTOS like Embedded Linux or VxWorks
• Significant device driver development for several of the following interface types: USB, I2C, SPI, UART, JTAG, GPIO, PCIE.  Experience with ARM or similar embedded processor cores
• Experience in system level software (RTOS, test application) development and debugging in embedded environment
• Experience with Set Top Box and/or Video codec is highly desirable.  Conditional access or other security experience is a huge plus. 

SALARY RANGE: Salary depends  on experience, however most qualified candidates will currently be in the 90k – 160k range
