Sales and Business Development Manager for Professional Services Sales to Telecom Equipment Providers
DESCRIPTION:
Our client is seeking a Sales and Business Development Manager for professional services sales (software and QA Services) to Telecom network Equipment Providers. This person should have experience doing sales or business development of software systems or professional services into companies providing telecom equipment into telcos and MSOs (clients such as Northern Telecom, Lucent, Avaya, Cisco, Huwaii, Brocade, Alcatel, Motorola, etc.) This should be someone who could build relationships at multiple levels in the customer organization. Management of other sales people is not required but they must have experience closing sales and "hunting" for new clients and business relations. The candidates ideally would have prior experience selling consulting services or customer software or professional services - as well as experience growing business relationships.
REQUIREMENTS (MUST-HAVE):
LOCATION/RELO/COMPENSATION:
Live anywhere with travel (although preference for East Coast). Client has offices in New York City, New Jersey Metropolitan Area as well as the Silicon Valley, CA. Willingness to travel is required and the right candidate could work from home with travel as needed.
Salary Range: 150,000 – 250,000 USD/yr. total compensation

REQUIREMENTS (MUST-HAVE):
- Experience selling products (technology - software ideally) to into companies providing telecom equipment into telcos and MSOs (clients such as Northern Telecom, Lucent, Avaya, Cisco, Huwaii, Brocade, Alcatel, Motorola, etc.)
- An understanding of the telecom business, broadband networks, VOIP, telephony
- Experience with telcos – including Verizon, ATT, Frontier, Sprint etc., and mobile companies (Sprint, ATT, Verizon), and to a lesser extent MSO's
- A solid track record growing sales with a consultative selling mindset (solution sales). Industry expertise is required. Technical expertise is a plus.
- Experience cultivating new customers, negotiating sales, and overseeing successful customer delivery. Management and sales leadership experience is a plus as this team is likely to grow.
- Technical expertise in software systems and the software development and test/QA/integration lifecycle.
